Organise everything and make use of long-lasting boxes.
This is not a permanent plan and will be looked at and changed as needed.
I think i got more stuff than i need.
The first plan is to maybe pack up what i want and need to keep and see what's left. I can't pack up things im using on a daily basis, but i could try and organise them.
Things like clothes and towels and stuff like that.
Step 1.
Pick up and pack away what i want to keep or need. Pack away and organise in a suitable box or a smart case, even a folder for paperwork. Add a temporary lable like w Last day of September 2024, then October. ires, books etc..
Last day of September 2024, then October.
It's not working. Doing a odd clean up job here and there just isn't working.
The bits ive done have already got new bits of clutter. It's a non stop cycle. I have to think big.
I got October, November left before December. In December i want to be preparing for Xmas. 2 months sounds plenty of time if I just get on with it.
Im worried about my loft overflowing and worried about items getting lost.
Im thinking about life, how long i got left and how i want to live. As mentioned somewhere on this blog, we had a unexpected set back that i wont get into. We all have our problems and this blog is only about Decluttering your home.
Besides from that. We have always lived in clutter, it has been a on going problem.
As you may know by now or not. I do a few projects in music, repairs and i want to start new ones. I collect things i can use later and i collect things i like the look of.
Im gonna sit down now and write up a new plan of action to tidy-up.
3 rd October 2024.
This is what im thinking to do.
Pack up all the stuff i want to keep. Then pack up the rest to get rid of taken bits i want that i may have forgotten.
Probably do one room at a time.
Reason for this way of thinking.
I'm eventually going to have to downsize my living space, either by moving somewhere smaller, and I can't keep living surrounded by clutter that's stopping me from doing the things I love.
17th October 2024.
Almost half though and with a steady plan.
Im in the process of doing this and have done a lot of it already. Im not too far away from the finished line.
Things i use regularly kept out. Things i will need packed and labeled and Things i want but not using go in the loft with things i will properly need to get rid off.
I couldn't bring myself to chuck anything away just yet so the loft is the ideal place.
In just over 6 weeks from getting my head down and getting on with it, i have got this far. With another 6 weeks to the end of November. I think I've got this.
This week, finished off my bedroom and clear storage room for more storage.
Next week do the kitchen.
Week after. Do the living room.
3 weeks left to decorate the kitchen and living room.
Great plan. Lets put some dates on that.
21st start on the kitchen and doing any small jobs in my bedroom that i didn't do last week.
Kitchen. Same sorting out the stuff from what i use regularly to not using very much will go in the storage room. And things i probably don't need anymore will go in the loft.
Detail clean everything. Behind the fridge, cooker etc. Remove grease from the overtop fan.
28th. Living room. Remove all non living room items. Mostly done that already. Clean walls and wood. Celling and lights. Tidy-up wires.
4th November. With 4 weeks left.
Paint the kitchen and back door area. Refurbished units. Then paint living room half first then other half.
Use basic magnolia paint for now. No time to get too creative with colour's.
Spend no more then 2 weeks per room.
December 2024.
Write and set a weekly cleaning, upkeep schedule to help keep the place clean and tidy. Then,
Go and visit a few people and enjoy coming home to a clean house. Plan for Xmas and enjoy the experience. Then next year, get back to work.
Monday 4th November 2024
One room left. The living room.
Pack up while organising the stuff and store in the spare room. Give the room a wash down clean. May git rid of the sofa and get a new one.
May split the room into one side as a function room. Shoes, water table.
